Recent Developments in Rice Molecular Breeding for Tolerance to Heavy Metal Toxicity

چکیده
Heavy metal toxicity generally refers to the negative impact on environment, humans, and other living organisms caused by exposure heavy metals (HMs). poisoning is accumulation of HMs in soft tissues a toxic amount. bind certain cells prevent organs from functioning. Symptoms HM can be life-threatening not only cause irreversible damage humans organisms; but also significantly reduce agricultural yield. physical examination findings associated with vary depending accumulated. Many HMs, such as zinc, copper, chromium, iron, manganese, are present at extremely low levels essential for functioning plants. However, if these accumulate plants sufficient concentrations poisoning, serious occur. Rice consumed around world staple food incidents pollution often occur rice-growing areas. In many rice-producing countries, cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), lead (Pb) have been recognized commonly widespread contaminating rice fields worldwide. addition mining irrigation activities, use fertilizers pesticides has contributed contamination soils world. A number QTLs stress signals various intermediary molecules reported activate transcription factors (TFs). Some antioxidant enzymes studied which contribute scavenging reactive oxygen species, ultimately leading tolerance rice. Genome engineering advanced editing techniques successfully applied improve grains. this review article, recent developments progress molecular science induction tolerance, including reduced uptake, compartmentalized transportation, gene-regulated signaling, or diversion particles plant parts than grains, discussed detail, particular emphasis

Heavy quark production: recent developments
I discuss some aspects of the comparison between QCD predictions and experimental data in charm and bottom production. Experimental information on the production of heavy-flavoured hadrons is impressive. Charmed hadron production has been studied extensively in fixed-target experiments, while colliders have provided a detailed picture of the productions of b-flavoured hadrons. Many aspects of t...
متن کاملHeavy Metal Toxicity
Heavy metals are metallic elements which have a high atomic weight and a density much greater (at least 5 times) than water. There are more than 20 heavy metals, but four are of particular concern to human health: lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), and inorganic arsenic (As). According to the U.S. Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry. These four heavy metals are four of the top ...
متن کاملHeavy Metal Toxicity
In general, irritable health concern related to heavy metal (accumulation) might be mainly divided into 2 types, i.e. heavy metal poisoning caused by excessive extrinsic exposure and genetic disorders such as Wilson disease (as reviewed by Osredkar et al. in this issue). As for the former type, unlike the latter one, it can be said that the health damage spread with the development of the civil...
متن کاملPlant Responses to Heavy Metal Toxicity
Plants, like all other organisms, have evolved different mechanisms to maintain physiological concentrations of essential metal ions and to minimize exposure to non-essential heavy metals. Some mechanisms are ubiquitous because they are also required for general metal homeostasis, and they minimize the damage caused by high concentrations of heavy metals in plants by detoxification, thereby con...
